Allumer natchez is a thematically curated light based art exhibition and festival
We work with artists who work with light!
Allumer Natchez is a free, festival and exhibition attracting locals and visitors from across the region. The event pairs historic spaces with innovative contemporary light-based artworks.
Artists and students create monumental 3D mapped projections, narrative projections, sculptural works, interactive installations, dance, poetry, theater, and puppetry, all produced using light as the main medium. The STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math) heavy, night time exhibition is presented in a festival like atmosphere and is always free and open to the public.
Come enjoy this magical experience including our popular Maker’s Market and Food Court this November 10th and 11th, 2023 from dusk until 10pm in Downtown Natchez, Mississippi!
This year’s theme is sustenance.
Allumer Natchez 2023 : Sustenance
Sustenance is an exploration of what nourishes us as a community. Not only the food we eat, which is raised and grown all around us, in and above soil made fertile by the strength of The River, but the sustenance we find in each other, spiritual, emotional, intellectual and psychological. Sustenance is an open air group exhibition of regional artists working in the medium of light and depicting their thoughts on what sustains us as a region, both from a contemporary narrative and historical perspective.
